October 2016: El Salvador
In 2016, I traveled to El Salvador to report on the connection between climate change and the high incidence of chronic kidney disease in Central America for Mosaic Science. I was shown around by doctor’s Ramón García-Trabanino and Emmanuel Jarquín who both, in their own time, have been using their own money to mitigate what has become an epidemic in El Salvador.
Mosaic Science published the story in April 2017 and I hope to always be in touch with these two and report on their future work.
